Added depth will help Braves to compete

The Braves track team has a few more out for the sport, more depth in certain areas and could score better in multi-school events than last season.

We have 20 young men out,” said Coach John Beck. “It is a very fun group to work with and is very committed.”

We have a lot of youth, but also have a good balance of sprinters and distance guys to help us fill as many events as possible,” the coach said.

The Braves also return some throwers, and have some jumpers in camp, too.

‘Our focus is just to become better athletes,” Beck said. “They know the benefits sprinting, jumping and throwing have for all the other sports they compete in here in Montezuma.”

I am very excited to go out and watch these guys compete,” the coach said.

Montezuma is scheduled to open its season Tuesday, March 29, at Belle Plaine.
