SULLY ā Lynnville-Sully, the second-rated team in Class 1A, ground out a methodical 10-0 win in five innings over the Bravettes in SICL softball action Monday evening, June 7.
The Hawks scored in every inning, including four runs in the fourth, when they extended their lead to 9-0.
Montezuma had four hits, one each by Madison Van Zee, Jadyn Sharer, Izzy Roorda and Kailey Shaffer.
Sharer stole a base.
Kallie Robison pitched all 4.2 innings for the Bravettes. She yielded 11 hits and 10 runs, four of them earned. She didn’t walk a batter and struck out two.
The Bravettes made seven errors, while Lynnville-Sully was errorless.
Montezuma fell to 2-10 overall and to 0-5 against the league.
Korinne Jansen, Regan McFarland, Laci Keen and Cayler Noun Harder each had two hits for the Hawks.
McFarland stole three bases and the team hit four doubles.
Starting pitcher Denali Conover worked five shutout innings, scattering four hits, four walks and six strikeouts.
Lynnville-Sully is 7-4 overall, but 5-0 in SICL play.
