The Montezuma Bravettes capped a successful first half of the season with a 54-19 home win over Sigourney on Thursday, Dec. 19.
Going up against a very tough and well-coached Sigourney squad, the Bravettes’ pressure and ability to stay calm in the storm on the offensive end, willed the team through to the finish. Montezuma controlled the game from start to finish.
Kierstyn Price led the team with 17 points, Alyssa Cline added 13, and Madison Johannes added 11 in a balanced guard attack.
Price was three-for-six from behind the three-point arc.
Ashlyn Krousie led the team with 6 rebounds.
The Bravettes shot .457 from the field, and helped to limit Sigourney to .162 shooting. Montezuma made 14 turnovers, compared with 21 by the Savages.
The victory moves the Bravettes to 8-0 on the season.
