The Montezuma 7th grade girls basketball team went to Williamsburg on December 22. The Bravettes ran into a seasoned Raiders team. We struggled to defend and score. But, we improved throughout the game and hopefully the experience will help us in January.
The Raiders held a 14-4 lead at halftime. The final score was 26-11.
The Bravettes were 5-28 from the field for 18%. The Raiders were 13-54 for 24%. The Raiders dominated the rebounds 45-20. Monte had 21 turnovers while Williamsburg had 17.
Lily Ferry led the scoring with 5 points. Claire Erselius had 4 points. Kami Mathes had 2 points. Chloe Snook had 3 steals.
The Montezuma 7th graders fall to 1-2 on the season. They play North Mahaska on January 11 at home.
