The Montezuma Bravette 8th grade girls basketball team traveled to Pella Christian and picked up a win on December 12.
The Bravettes used a strong press and tough half-court defense to jump to a 24-6 halftime lead. It was more of the same in the 3rd quarter beating them 12-2.
The final score was 38-13.
Monte shot 17-48 for 35 percent. Pella Christian was 6-33 for 18 percent. The Bravettes won the battle of the boards 35-24. Monte forced 17 turnovers while only committing 10.
Jadyn Sharer was on fire with 17 points on only 10 shots including 3-4 on 3-pointers. She also had 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Ashlee Eilander had 6 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Alivia Cline had 4 points, 5 assists and 3 steals. Isabella Roorda had 4 points and a block.
Laila Kercheval had 4 points. Jordan Ranfeld scored 3 points and had a block. Coral Lowry had 5 rebounds.
