THORNBURG – The Montezuma Bravettes 8th grade traveled to Thornburg to play the Tri-County Trojans.
All three guards, Lauryn Larmore, Alexa Rose and Ryanne Williams, made a 3-pointer in the first quarter as Monte raced to a 15-2 lead.
The Bravettes pushed the lead to 25-4 at the half and won, 43-10.
Monte shot 16-58 (28%) from the field, 6-21 (29%) from long distance and 5-6 (83%) from the free line. Tri-County shot 5-27 (19%) from the field, 0-2 from long distance and 0-4 from the free throw line. The teams tied with 33 rebounds. Monte had 7 turnovers compared with 30 for the Trojans.
Alexa Rose led the scoring with 14 points including two 3-pointers. She also had 5 steals.
Lauryn Larmore was a stat stuffer. She had 11 points including a 3-pointer, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 7 steals and a block.
Ryanne Williams also had a big game. She had 11 points, including 3 triples and 7 steals. Sophia Semprini also had good numbers with 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals and block. Olivia Latcham had 2 blocks.
The Montezuma Bravette 8th/A-team moves to 2-3 on the season. They travel to Marengo on Thursday to face Iowa Valley.
