8th girls frustrated at Pella Christian

The Montezuma Bravettes 8th Grade traveled to Pella Christian to face the Eagles on December 9.

Pella Christian had a big, physical talented team that frustrated the Bravettes. The Eagles jumped to a 12-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Bravettes played better in the 2nd but still trailed 20-11 at the half.

The Bravettes’ effort remained high but Pella Christian could not be stopped. The final was 38-23.

Monte was 9-44 for 21% from the field including 1-5 from 3-point range and 4-6 on free throws. Pella Christian was 17-57 for 30% from the field including 0-4 from 3-point range, and 4-10 on free throws.

The Eagles out-rebounded the Bravettes 45-35. Monte had 23 turnovers vs. Pella Christian’s 18.

Claire Erselius had 13 points & 7 rebounds. Lindsey Henry had 4 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Makenna Warden had 4 points. Haileah Eichenberger had 2 points. Chloe Snook had 6 rebounds, 4 steals and a block.

Lily Ferry had 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Krista Cheney and Vivian Cook each had a block.

The 8th/A team moves to 3-1 on the season. They travel to Sully on Monday and Keota on Tuesday.
