MARENGO – It was a great night for the three-point shooters and the rest of the Braves as they sank 10 treys in a 65-14 win over Iowa Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
Brady Boulton made 6 three-pointers and Luke Brennan and Dane Strong made 2 each in the win.
Boulton finished with 36 points, while Brennan scored 13.
“Good effort in our full- and half-court defense gave us a number of turnovers that led to fast break layins,” Coach Dennis Phelps said.
“Luke Brennan played his best game of the year,” said the coach.
“Broox Stockman played only part of the first quarter because of foul trouble and got his fourth early in the third. But he was still competitive on defense and rebounding,” Phelps said.
Stockman finished with 8 points.
Strong also had 8 points.
“Luke Erselius and Isaac Wedgewood continue to improve around the basket while providing strong defense and rebounding that lead to the start of fast breaks,” Phelps said.
“Dane Strong, Rhett Pargeon and Easton Hudnut provide great minutes as seventh graders playing against mostly eighth grade players,” the coach said.
UP NEXT – Final game is Thursday, Feb. 3, at home against Pella Christian.
