A Montezuma way to say ‘goodbye’

They called it a “reverse parade.”

That’s because some weeks ago, Montezuma staff and faculty paraded around the district, trying to drive past the homes of as many students as possible.

This parade, on Thursday evening, May 28, was the reverse of that: Faculty and staff lined up along Circle Drive in front of the building, and it was the students and community members that drove past.

Looking down via drone over Circle Drive and the school.

Some of the cars and teachers had handmade signs. All of them were heartfelt.

They were saying goodbye to each other, for the summer.

Our Allyson Fillmore shot photos at ground level, and even got a couple of drone shots looking down from above.

We do miss you!
Greeting their teachers.
Wishing you a great summer!
It has been ‘jawsome.’
Yes! Have a great summer!
Teachers wave goodbye.
