Activities Director welcomes in new season

Dear Parents and Guardians and Fans,

On behalf of myself and the entire athletic department, I would like to welcome you to the start of the 2023-24 school year.

I look forward to working collaboratively with each program and am committed to creating a partnership with you to ensure the success and growth for your students in their educational and athletic journey.

It won’t be long before school begins and our facilities will be filled with new endeavors for our students-athletes.  We look forward to a rewarding year for Montezuma Athletics.

We invited and encouraged any Montezuma family who has a student who plans to participate in athletics during the 2023/24 school year to attend our Gatorade Fall Sports Kickoff on Aug. 10. It is our goal to develop a strong relationship with our families and community through open communication and this begins now.

We strive to be an extension of the classroom by displaying character and integrity in all we do.  Hopefully, you can become as actively involved in this process as your schedule allows.

On Aug. 10, we discussed a variety of topics from expectations for students and families, opportunities for supporting our athletic programs, sportsmanship, etc… while also meeting our fall sports teams. (Fall sports teams had their parent meetings at the conclusion of this event).

We can ensure our students meet school and athletic expectations while flourishing in their activities of choice with clear communication.

We are all very proud of the programs we have at Montezuma.  We want the athletes to be the very best they can be, and excel not only as an athlete, but also as a person.

I believe the experiences students get from athletics help create some of their greatest attributes for the life ahead.

Thank you for your support as we begin this exciting journey together.

Sincerely,

Tim Burgess

Montezuma Activities Director
