BELLE PLAINE – A lot of the action in Montezuma’s softball game at Belle Plaine happened in the seventh and final inning on Friday evening, June 17.

The Bravettes put up five runs in their half of the seventh to take an 8-5 lead.

But Belle Plaine rallied with four in its half of the seventh, scoring the winner with two outs. Belle Plaine won, 9-8.

Both sides made contact. Belle Plaine outhit Montezuma 13-9.

Abby Pope went 2×3 for the Bravettes.

Kallie Robison had one hit, but drove in three runs.

The Bravettes stole four bases and allowed just three steals.

Robison pitched six and two-thirds innings, walking no one and striking out four. Just four of the runs against her were earned.

Montezuma fell to 4-12 with the defeat, while Belle Plaine rose to 12-8.
