Albia hammers out win over Braves

The Albia Blue Demons outscored Montezuma in each quarter and beat the Braves 83-55 on Saturday evening, Feb. 3, at home.

Albia led 22-16 after one quarter, 40-26 at halftime and 66-45 through three quarters.

Montezuma was guilty of 21 turnovers and that was a decisive statistic for the Braves, who were playing in their fourth game of the week and second in as many nights.

Watts’ 14 ame on 5-for-8 from the field, and one-of-two on treys. He and Kohen Holland tied for team honors in rebounds with 6 each.

Albia left town with a 9-8 record.

The Braves will take a 13-7 mark into their next contest.
