The Montezuma Bravettes B-team basketball squad traveled to Sigourney to play the Savages.
The Bravettes used their aggressive press to race to a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. Monte its lead to 12-2 at halftime and won 25-12.
Montezuma went 12-57 on two-point shots, 0-2 from beyond the arc, and 1-2 from the line. Sigourney countered with 4-28 on two-pointers, 0-1 on three-pointers, and 4-13 on free throws. Monte doubled up on the Sigourney 46-23 on rebounds. The Bravettes committed 14 turnovers, and the Savages had 27.
Teagan Sutherland had a triple-double. Teagan had 14 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals, and a block.
Karley Eichenberger dominated the paint. Eich had 6 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks. Aubrey Bardwell scored 5 points with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Harper Cossolotto had 3 assists and 1 block.
Up next, the Bravettes will play at home against BGM on Monday and travel to Keota on Tuesday.
