Bears take care of Braves in 5 innings

BROOKLYN – BGM got its bats going early and scored a 13-3 baseball victory in five innings over Montezuma on Monday, June 24.

The Bears had a 10-4 margin in hits.

Gavin Wilcox hit a double for the Braves and drove in a run.

Rett Pargeon also hit a double.

Luke Erselius and Dane Strong had one hit each.

Jack Erselius didn’t get a hit, but drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Seven Montezuma errors didn’t help the pitching efforts of the Braves’ Luke Erselius. He worked 4.0 innings, allowed 5 hits and 9 run, just 3 of them earned.

Luke walked three, hit one and struck our four.

Easton Hudnut pitched two-thirds on an inning, giving up 2 hits and 4 runs, three of them earned. He walked three, hit one and didn’t strike out any.

Kieran Secora drove in four runs for the Bears and Jackson Bullers drove in three. Dakota Heishman had three hits.

Cael Coburn pitched all five innings for BGM, allowed 3 runs, none of them earned. He walked one, hit one and struck out 6.

Montezuma fell to 4-10 on the season, while BGM moved to 14-7.
