Belle Plaine bats rock Braves, 12-6

BELLE PLAINE – Belle Plaine had its hitting shoes on and scored a 12-6 baseball win over Montezuma on Friday evening, June 17.

The Plainesmen outhit the Braves 16-5.

The Braves jumped out to a 2-0 second inning lead. But Belle Plaine took the lead with four runs in the second, then added on with four in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Owen Cook went 1×4 for the Braves, drove in a run, and scored one.

Cook also pitched 5 and one-third innings and struck out 12 batters.

The Braves allowed just three stolen bases, but made seven errors.

The loss dropped Montezuma to 0-11 on the season.

Belle Plaine rose to 4-8.
