BELLE PLAINE – Montezuma’s underclass teams got the night off to a rousting start with victories, but the Bravettes didn’t fare as well against a strong Belle Plaine team.
Belle Plaine scored a 3-0 match victory over Montezuma in varsity play. Scores were 25-10, 25-13 and 25-11.
The win lifted Belle Plaine to 19-9 on the season.
Montezuma stands at 7-14.
Belle Plaine had a 39-9 advantage in kills. If there was just one stat that told the story of this match, that was it.
Izzy Roorda led the Bravettes with 16 digs and Laila Kercheval had 8.
Kercheval was 8-for-9 serving, with two aces.
Coral Lowry led the Bravettes in kills with 4.
Kalynn Wanders led in assists with 4.
UNDERCLASS TEAMS WIN – The Bravette frosh-soph team won 2-1, and the junior varsity was a 2-0 winner over Belle Plaine.
