MONTEZUMA – Scoring was confined to the first three innings, then BGM held on for a 6-3 baseball win over the Braves on Friday evening, June 6.
Montezuma plated a run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
BGM scored 3 in the second and added 3 in the third to go up 6-1.
Montezuma came back and trailed 6-3 after three – but the score stayed that way.
Hits were at a premium. BGM had four and the Braves made just two.
Luke Erselius hit a pair of doubles and drove in a run for Montezuma.
Gavin Wilcox drew a walk and had a run batted in.
Nolan Hudnut scored a run.
Broox Stockman drew and walk and produced an RBI, and also stole a base.
Stolen bases were big for the Bears. They had 9 of them, with three players having two each.
Beau Burns had one BGM hit and 2 runs batted in. Finn Callahan scored a run and drove in two.
Tucker Wright hit a double for the Bears.
The Braves made three errors, while BGM had five.
