BGM outhits Bravettes in one-run victory

BGM defenders keep a Bravettes runner between them between first and second base.

BROOKLYN – BGM pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the lead, then held it to score a 4-3 win over Montezuma on Wednesday, May 31.

The difference in this game probably was BGM’s ability to put runners on base. The Bears outhit the Bravettes, 10-4.

BGM pitcher Laila Morrison threw all seven innings, yielded the four hits, didn’t walk anyone and struck out six.

Kallie Robison went two-for-three at the plate for the Bravettes. She also pitched six innings, gave up 10 hits, didn’t walk a batter and fanned six.

Coach Jeremy Van Zee wants runner Laila Kercheval to stay where she is, for now, after reaching third base against BGM.

Jordan Ranfeld had one hit, Ellen Cook had a run batted in, and Lily Ferry stole a base.

Ava Sacoda had one hit and drove in two runs for BBM, which took its record to 3-3.

The Bravettes fell to 2-3.
