Big inning visits girls twice in 20-3 win

THORNBURG – Tri-County was chugging along with a 3-1 lead through three innings, but Montezuma was cooking up a memorable come-from-behind win.

The Bravettes scored six runs in the fourth inning, then 13 in the fifth.

The result was a 20-3 victory on Tuesday, June 28.

Izzy Roorda blasted her first career home run as the Bravettes out-hit Tri-Coutny 12-6 in the five-inning game.

Kallie Robison pitched all five innings, walking no one – again – while striking out three hitters.

Jadyn Sharer went 3×3 at the plate, scored four runs, hit two doubles, stole a base and drove in a run.

Chloe Snook was 3×4, scored three runs, drove in three and stole two bases.

Roorda was 2×3, with the homer and two runs batted in.

Madison Van Zee had one hit and stole three bases in addition to batting in a run.

Lily Ferry had one hit and drove in two runs.

Laila Kercheval and Ellen Cook had one hit and one RBI each.

The Bravettes stole 11 bases during the game, and were guilty of just one error.

The win was Montezuma’s ninth of the season, against 15 losses.

Tri-County is 13-13.
