Boys golfers have ‘national’ experience

PANORA – The Montezuma Boys Golf Team traveled to Lake Panorama National Course Saturday, April 24 to compete in the Hal Rasso Invitational.

This was a tremendous opportunity for the boys to get experience at a well-taken-care-of and difficult 18 hole course,” said Montezuma Coach Liesl Roorda.

The fairways were long and narrow with a great deal of mature trees in play at every hole,” Roorda said.

The boys also saw many holes with sand bunkers and water lining the greens, making for some challenging approach shots,” the coach added.

For most of the boys, this was the first time they had played in an 18 -hole tournament.”

The top 3 medaling teams at the end of the day were Class 2A and 3A schools.

The Montezuma boys came in 4th over the other 2A and 1A schools.
