There’s no question that Montezuma’s football team has put up some dazzling numbers during its now 7-0 season.

Last week, The Des Moines Register published a story about how several Braves were state leaders – for all classes – in various categories.

It was based on numbers reported by Quick Stats, an online statistics service, that Iowa coaches are required to report to.

Here, we’re looking at the same numbers, only we’re limiting it to Class 8, and at the seven-week breakpoint the paper used.

Those figures show Montezuma players listed 22 times in the top five statewide in various categories.
