Fast start keys HLV in 7-4 win over Braves

VICTOR – The Braves again were competitive, but fell 7-4 to HLV on Monday evening, June 27.

HLV had a 6-1 lead through four innings, but the Braves jumped back at them with three in the fifth. However, that was as close as Montezuma got.

Owen Cook went 2×4 at the plate for Montezuma.

Broox Stockman was 2×4 with a run batted in.

Cook pitched six innings and struck our six HLV batters.

Luke Erselius was 2×2 for the Braves, was hit by a pitch, and scored two runs.

Garrett Watts, Cruz De Jong and Colton Benson each had a hit for Montezuma.

Peyton Roth went 3×3 for HLV, with four runs batted in, a stolen base and a run scored.

Camden Kennebeck pitched six innings for the Warriors, and struck out nine.

The defeat dropped the Braves to 1-14 on the season.

HLV moved to 7-8.
