Braves got desired result vs Belle Plaine

Our win over Belle Plaine wasn’t pretty all the time but the outcome was what we wanted. The guys were determined to get the job done. Winning those types of games, ones where things don’t go our way all the time, where we are resilient, is good to see.

The line played physically and we were able to move the ball on the ground well. There were a few things that we needed to correct here and there but we won this game because of how our linemen played in the trenches.

Brady Boulton, Brett Plants and Broox Stockman all ran the ball hard we were able to move the chains. Along with our ground game, our pass protection was pretty good. Brady had a clean pocket most of the night and that allowed for some very efficient completions. Lars Taylor and David Rose stepped up big!

On defense, aside from two big plays, we were able to contain the Belle Plaine offense. We did a good job at the point of attack, as our linemen and linebackers flowed well.

Our corners did a pretty good job filling in on run plays and helping with the play action. Luke Erselius and Broox were critical in turning the ball back into Brett and our flowing linemen. Our secondary was able to knock down a few balls and Luke Brennan’s big pick sealed the deal!

Alex Becerril had a very nice kicking game. He was 4-4 on PAT’s which turned out to be the deciding factor, and was able to pin the ball deep a few times. Our kickoff coverage was pretty good. We have a few things to work on when it comes to our other special teams.

I am very proud of how the guys played and competed! We did a lot of things well but we also need to focus and improve on the little details as we finish out the season.
