Braves have good moments at Lone Tree
LONE TREE – The wrestling Braves warmed up for Saturday’s SICL meet by competing in a quadrangular meet on Thursday, Jan. 25.
The Braves came close in one dual, a 30-24 defeat to the host school. However, all four Montezuma wins were via forfeits.
Brett and Braxton Plants had a good evening on the mats.
Brett pinned two opponents in the second period at 190 pounds, and got a third win via forfeit.
Braxton won a 3-1 decision against Columbus, and pinned his 215-pound opponent in 40 seconds against Mediapolis. He was a forfeit winner against Lone Tree.
Isaac Wedgewood at 285 persevered for a 7-6 decision against his opponent from Mediapolis, and picked up a forfeit victory in the Lone Tree Dual.
Conner Smith at 126 was a forfeit winner against Lone Tree.
