VICTOR – The baseball Braves, who won just one ballgame all of last season, equaled that total in their second game this year, 14-5 over HLV, on Friday, May 26.

Actually, this was just a continuation of an excellent performance in their opener, when they lost in an extra inning to Colfax-Mingo.

Garrett Watts was heavily involved in this result, pitching the first four innings of the win and lining four hits in five at bats.

But, he had help, from a lineup that produced 14 runs on 15 hits.

James was the big RBI man for Montezuma, drivng in three runs with a pair of hits.

Benson also had two hits.

The Braves on offense really kept the line moving, with an on base percentage of .589 for the game.
