Braves keep momentum going, 70-44

Momentum is on Montezuma’s side.

Both Colfax-Mingo and the Braves came into Friday’s game against each other with records of 3-1 overall and 2-1 in South Iowa Cedar League play.

The Braves left no doubt, leading all the way in a 70-44 win on home hardwood in the Dec. 8 clash.

Montezuma led 19-9 after one quarter, 32-17 at halftime and 52-30 through three quarters.

Tight defense and balanced scoring keyed this win by the Braves.

The Braves shot .580 from the field and limited their opponent to .378 shooting.

Brady Boulton led three Braves in double figures, scoring 23 points. He shot 4-for-9 on three-pointers, 5-6 on free throws, and he dished four assists.

Garrett Watts netted 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting. He also grabbed four rebounds.

Max Anderson was the third in double figures with 12 points. To that he added 6 rebounds.

The Braves led 29-20 in rebounding.

Alex Black pulled down 9 rebounds and scored 6 points.

Luke Brennan scored 6 points, and Dane Strong had 5 points.
