Braves pitch, hit past Colfax-Mingo, 9-3

The baseball Braves used the 16-strikeout, complete game pitching of Luke Erselius and a 7-run rally over three innings to take a 9-3 home win over Colfax-Mingo in the season opener at home on Wednesday, May 21.

The Braves faced a 3-2 deficit before scoring 4 runs in the fourth inning, 2 in the fifth and one in the sixth in taking control. Erselius allowed just one earned run, and no runs at all after the third inning. In all the Tigerhawks reached Erselius for just two hits.

Gavin Wilcox went 2-for-3 at the plate, drove in a run, and stole 3 bases.

Easton Hudnut drove in two runs with a triple, and also stole a base. 

The Braves made 9 hits in all. Erselius, Dane Strong and Rett Pargeon also had two hits, with Pargeon driving in two runs.
