Braves play physical and smart

The Braves celebrate success on the field after the BGM game.

Head football coach

Editor’s note: I complimented Coach Beck for the Braves’ outstanding season so far.

Thank you, but all the credit goes to the young men and the assiant coaches! The guys play physical, smart football, but most of all they play for each other!

Twin Cedars was a game going in on offense, where we had a plan to give a lot of guys the ball and some touches to kids who might not normally get them. Everyone who touched the ball stepped up and was able to get the job done.

We have a deep talent pool of skill guys, having them be able to get some reps in games like this is invaluable.

Up front we were able to work some different groups in. The main thing is to continue to develop depth as we go to the playoffs.

On the defensive side, it was team football all night long. Guys were able to rally to the football and hold their offense out of the end zone.

Initially tackling was not as good as I would like it to be but it improved as the night went on.

It was good to see our young guys in and playing hard. They tackled very well, probably better than the older guys that night. We have high expectations when our young guys go in to make sure the job continues to get done and they did that very well.

Alex Becerril was perfect on PAT’s and his kickoffs were good as well.  We went for a field goal with our young guys in late and pressure got there to force a quick kick.

Our kickoff coverage continued to be good and we were able to get some good punt returns from Luke Brennan.
