Braves roll past EV in 5 innings

NORTH ENGLISH – Easton Hudnut was on center stage for hitting and pitching as the Braves rolled past winless English Valleys 18-0 in five innings on Monday, June 16.

Hudnut led a 14-hit Braves attack with a bases-loaded double that scored three runs. He also pitched the five-inning distance, allowing just two hits.

Brook Stockman sent 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in.

Ty Smothers also was 3-for-3, with one RBI.

Gavin Wilcox had two hits including a double, and one run batted in.

Isaac Wedgewood had two hits including a double and two runs batted in.

Ethan Desrochers had one hit and three RBIs.

Luke Erselius had two hits and three runs batted in.

To all this, the Braves added 7 stolen bases, including two each by Wilcox, Erselius and Stockman.

Montezuma made just one error.

Hudnut’s five-inning pitching totals were 2 hits, no runs, no earned runs, two walks and 6 strikeouts.

The Braves moved to 4-6 on the season, while English Valleys fell to 0-10.
