Braves roll past EV in 5 innings, 17-7

The Montezuma Braves were hitters and base bandits in a 17-7 run past winless English Valleys on Wednesday, June 12.

The game went just five innings, but saw Montezuma rap out 13 hits while stealing 13 bases in 13 attempts.

Montezuma led 11-0 after two innings and didn’t look back.

Garrett Watts had 3 hits for the Braves, including a double.

Getting two hits each were Luke Erselius, Broox Stockman, Easton Hudnut and Rett Pargeon.

Stockman scored 3 runs and had a run batted in.

Hudnut knocked in a run.

Cruz De Jong heads home with a run.

Pargeon hit a double and had 3 RBIs.

Dane Strong got one hit and drove in a run.

Jack Erselius had one hit.

Braves stolen base leaders included Watts 3 and Jack Erselius with 3, and Hudnut and Pargeon with 2 each.

Isaac Wedgewood got the pitching win, working 3.1 innings, and yielding no hits.

Easton Hudnut pitched 1.2 innings, giving up 2 hits while walking 3 and striking out 2.

The Braves climbed to 3-6 with the win, while English Valleys sank to 0-10.
