Braves rule all-district 4 voting

WAYLAND – The Montezuma Braves’ unbeaten district football team dominated the top awards and the all-league honors almost the same way they dominated their district opponents on the field.

The Braves earned three of four most valuable player awards and coach of the year honors.

Meanwhile, a dozen Montezuma players earned berths on the all-district first- or second teams.

Braves quarterback Eddie Burgess was voted offensive most valuable player by the district coaches and was the only unanimous selection.

Brian Diaz was lineman MVP, Owen Cook was special teams MVP, and Pat O’Brien was voted Coach of the Year.
