DES MOINES – The unbeaten Montezuma Braves are the number three rated team in Class 1A in the first Associated Press boys basketball poll of the season.

The poll, issued Monday, Dec. 16, was delayed a week because only six members of the panel voted the first week. AP requires a minimum of 10 voters before issuing a poll.

Two teams the Braves played in last year’s state finals, Remsen St. Mary’s and Algona Garrigan, were the numbers one and two teams, respectively.
