NEW SHARON – Coach John Beck continued to like the progress of his boys track squad after the team scored 90 points and placed fifth out of eight at the Warhawk Coed Invitational on Thursday, April 6.

We set some season and career personal records as we continue to prepare for May,” Beck said.

Garrett Watts cleared 6 feet even in the high jump, placing third with that effort.

The sprint medley team of Kenny Criswell, Carter Michalek, Broox Stockman and David Rose placed third.

Montezuma got a second place finish in the 4×110 hurdle shuttle. Runners were Bryson Stockman, Luke Brennan, Damien Knox and Watts.

Rose tied for second in the 400-meter dash.

Watts and Knox went two-three in the 110-meter high hurdles.

I was very pleased with how our hurdlers have been doing,” Beck said. “We continue to improve and have set personal records multiple times this season.”

The coach also was happy with efforts from his sprinters in relays and individual events.

We continue to get good performances out of our distance guys as well,” the coach said. “I look for them to continue to improve.”

Beck cited continued improvement in the field events. “We have a young crew of throwers, but they continues to set personal records” he said.

I really like what I see from our jumpers as they continue to grow and score team points,” Beck said.

Meet reset – Beck said the invitational at Lynnville-Sully that was postponed has been rescheduled for April 13.
