Cleaning and polishing will be on the agenda as the football Braves close their regular season at district foe Twin Cedars on Friday, Oct. 18.

Montezuma brings a 7-1 record into the contest, while the Sabers are 0-8.

The district champion Braves are anticipating next week’s Class 8 playoffs, but there’s preparation work to do first.

Twin Cedars played one close game so far, a 32-30 loss to Melcher-Dallas. Last week, Belle Plaine beat Twin Cedars 88-0.

A pair of Sabers quarterbacks have combined for just two touchdown passes this season – and 15 interceptions.

One of those quarterbacks, Dallas Smith, is the team’s top rusher with 234 yards, a 6.0 per carry average, and 7 touchdowns.

Top receiver is Holden Roberts, who has 24 catches and an 8.6 yard average per grab.

Twin Cedars lists 18 players on its roster.
