Braves want to compete, have fun

Senior distance runner Brydon Henning will lead a small but hard-working Montezuma varsity track team this spring.

We have a small group, but they work hard in everything they do,” first-year track Coach Josh Kriegel said.

Our goals for the season are mainly to have fun and be competitive,” the coach said. Individually, Kriegel said he wants the Braves to “compete every day and support the team.”

Kriegel said, “track is a great way to stay in shape and help you stay competitive during the spring. There are a lot of events that our student-athletes can excel in. Also, it gives them opportunities to transfer skills into other sports.”

Kriegel participated in track for three years during high school. He said he’s most familiar with the high jump and hurdles events.
