MONTEZUMA – The Bravettes put three girls in double figures and put the hammer down defensively in a 60-22 win over Colfax-Mingo on Friday evening, Jan. 31.
Vivian Cook led with 21 points, including 6-for-12 shooting from three-point range.
Ellen Cook scored 13 points and added 5 assists and 4 steals.
Shiressa Wetering added 11 points, and Syd Burgess grabbed 9 rebounds.
The Bravettes shot .417 from the field and assisted 15 of their 20 field goals.
Montezuma had quarter leads of 15-4, 33-12 and 46-20.
It was Senior Night in Montezuma. Basketball seniors Ellen Cook and Shiressa Wetering were honored between the girls and boys games.
The Bravettes went to 13-4 with the win. They’re stlll unbeaten against Class 1A teams, and are now ranked #6 in 1A.
Colfax-Mingo fell to 5-14.
