It was another loss for the Bravettes, but . . .Montezuma played another team tough in well-played game as the softball season winds down.
Colo-Nesco took a 4-1 win in Montezuma on Thursday, July 1.
The Royals scored a first inning run, then neither side scored until the Royals made it 2-1 in the top of the fifth.
The Bravettes scored in the bottom half of the inning, then the Royals put up two runs in the sixth and held on.
Colo-Nesco had a 6-4 edge in hits.
Katie Reynolds was two-for-four for the Bravettes, scored her team’s lone run, and was three-for-three on steals.
Madison Van Zee had a hit and a sacrifice, and Jadyn Sharer had the Bravettes’ other hit.
Kallie Robison pitched all seven innings and had a solid outing. She scattered six hits, gave up four runs, two of which were earned, walked one and struck out eight.
The defeat dropped Montezuma to 8-19 on the season. Colo-Nesco went to 9-17.
