BROOKLYN – The Montezuma Bravettes did a bit more settling into their roles in dominating BGM, 69-13, in SICL play on Friday evening, Dec. 9.

The Bravettes are making a lot of noise in the league by keeping a lot of teams quiet with their defense.

In this game, Montezuma yielded seven points in the first quarter, four in the second – and then just two in the entire second half.

Meanwhile, after scoring 18 points in the first quarter, the Bravettes exploded with 28 in the second to lead 46-11 at halftime.

Montezuma was balanced in scoring and other categories.

Mia Boulton led three double figures scorers with 17 points. She was six-for-seven from the field, including five-for-six from behind the arc.

Jadyn Sharer put up 15 points, on five-for-nine shooting, which included three-for-seven on treys.

Kallie Robison’s eight points came on four-for-five shooting.

The Bravettes were particularly balanced in rebounding. They led 22-15 overall. Robison led with four, but Shiressa Wetering, Johannes, Izzy Roorda and Sharer all had three each and Ellen Cook ran down two.

Cook struggled a bit with her outside shooting, but still produced seven points and led the team in assists with six, while Johannes delivered five.

Boulton also led the Bravettes in steals with five.

UP NEXT – The girls have a key conference game on Tuesday, Dec. 13, when they host North Mahaska.
