NEW SHARON – Volleyball matches between Montezuma and North Mahaska usually are hotly contested, even though the Bravettes have won more often in recent seasons.
Tuesday night was no exception, as the Bravettes had to battle to come away with a 3-1 match victory.
Scores were 27-25 in a spirited first set. 25-16 in game two, 19-25 in set three and 27-25 again in a tense fourth set.
Montezuma has won 11 of the last 12 matches between the two.
The win lifted the Bravettes to 13-7 overall, and kept them unbeaten in SICL matches at 7-0.
North Mahaska went to 14-12 overall and to 5-2 against the league.
UP NEXT – The Bravettes play their final regular season home match on Thursday, Oct. 7, against Tri-County.
