Bravettes give L-S a real push, but . . .

The Bravettes have played some teams close in recent days – none so more than Lynnville-Sully on Friday, July 2.

The final was 10-5 for the now-22-7 Hawks. That doesn’t sound close, but consider that this was a 5-5 tie as Lynnville-Sully came up for its seventh inning cuts.

The visiting Hawks plated five, and left a disappointed Bravettes team behind.

The Hawks had a 5-1 lead through their half of the fourth inning. But the Bravettes scored three to get within a run.

Then, Montezuma tied it with a run in the sixth.

Then came Lynnville-Sully’s decisive seventh inning.

We don’t have Montezuma stats, but we’ll share them with you when they arrive.

Lynnville-Sully advanced its SICL record to 15-1, which has them in a tie for first place with Sigourney.

Montezuma fell to 8-20, and 4-12 against the league, which is good for ninth place in the 12-team SICL.

UP NEXT – The Bravettes go into post-season play against Iowa Valley on Tuesday, July 6. That game will start at 7 p.m. in Montezuma.
