“Overall, it was a great night for the girls,” said Bravettes Coach Megan Carlson, after her team placed fourth out of eight teams at the Lew Lundy Relays in Montezuma on Tuesday, April 18.
Montezuma scored well with 86 points.
Lily Ferry won the high jump and Chloe Snook took the 200-meter dash for the Bravettes.
Montezuma also got wins from the 4×200 and 4×400 relay teams.
The shuttle hurdle relay crew placed second.
“Several kids were still competing at State FFA, so we ran with a limited squad,” Carlson said. “However, the girls were still able to put up some season-best performances in front of a strong home crowd.”
Carlson said the girls “continued to grow physically and mentally and both of those areas will help us as we prepare for the championship portion of the season.”
“I am proud of the progress we are making in a variety of events,” Carlson said. “But, we still need to work out a few more events to help us prepare for the conference and district meets.”
