Bravettes made the Bears back off at BGM

BROOKLYN – The Bravettes were the dominant species Monday evening, Sept. 21, in their volleyball matches against BGM.

The varsity won 3-0, after the frosh-soph and JV squads won their matches by 2-0 scores.

The varsity Bravettes’ superior height helped them to dominate the Bears at the net. Montezuma also had a strong night serving the ball.

Varsity scores for Montezuma were 25-11, 25-14 and 25-18.

The Bravettes served at a .943 clip with 10 aces.

Shanae Wetering was 17-for-20 with three aces, while Ash Krousie was 13-for-13 with three ace serves.

Krousie led the Bravettes with 10 digs and Katie Reynolds had eight.

Dylan Holland had eight kills for Montezuma, while Wetering and Krousie had five each.

The Bravettes led 23-7 in kills and 10-2 in blocks.

Reynolds had 18 assists for the Bravettes.

The win lifted Montezuma to 5-4 overall, but kept the Bravettes unbeaten in SICL west division play.

BGM, which fell to 1-8, was led in kills by Kylie Holland, with four.
