KEOTA – The Bravettes served and defended their way to their second sweep in volleyball in as many nights with a 3-0 win over Keota on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The win lifted the Bravettes to 11-12 on the season heading into the SICL tournament starting on Monday, Oct. 14.
The Bravettes used mostly soft serves to get the ball over the net. That allowed Keota to set up a return, which Bravettes converted into instant offense.
Montezuma was good on 70 of 73 serves – a lofty .959 percentage. After Keota hit it back, the Bravettes came up with 84 digs – many of which were passed forward for kills.
Syd Burgess had 7 kills, 6 blocks, 15 digs and was 9-for-9 on serves for the Bravettes.
