Bravettes strike early, but Mustangs hit back!

LEGRAND – The Montezuma Bravettes scored five runs in the top half of the first inning against #9 East Marshall.

That got the home team’s attention. East Marshall scored 3 in the bottom of the first, then 9 in the third to get control in a 15-5 run past the Bravettes on Wednesday, June 26.

Montezuma managed six hits.

Kam Schmidt’s hit was a double that drove in a run. She also stole a base.

Lily Ferry hit a triple.

Izzy Roorda drove in two teammates with a single.

Lauryn Larmore singled and stole a base, while Syd Burgess and Chloe Snook also had singles.

Burgess pitched 5 innings. She allowd 11 hits and 14 runs, just six of them earned. The Bravettes made 6 errors.

Burgess walked three, hit one and struck out one.

Madison Van Zee pitched the final inning, allowing the game-ending run which was earned. She walked three.

Bailey Grant had three hits, including a home run, and 4 runs batted in. Vaeda Bryan had three hits and drove in 3 runs.

The Bravettes attacked the East Marshall starter for 5 runs on four hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Morgan Neuroth came on in relied and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing just one more hit.

East Marshall took its record to 25-3 on the season.

The Bravettes fell to 8-9.
