We were down by four with 5:52 to go and we showed amazing composure and guts,” said Bravettes Coach Janel Burgess.

We had to finish defensive possessions and then obviously make tough shots. We moved the ball and everyone shot the open shot. We didn’t make them all, but that did lead to fewer turnovers.”

Guard Mia Boulton led the Bravettes with 20 points, but four other Montezuma players scored six points each.

The Bravettes led 15-7 after one period, but the Hawks outscored Montezuma 29-21 during the middle two quarters to tie the score.

Stats were reasonably even, except for two major categoies: Turnovers and three-pointers.

The Bravettes made eight from behind the three-point arc, to four by Lynnville-Sully.
