MONTEZUMA – Montezuma was ready from the start and beat Lynnville-Sully 3-0 in opening round play of the regional volleyball tournament on Monday evening, Oct. 21.
Scores were 25-9, 25-11 and 25-15.
The Bravettes put 64 of 67 serve attempts over the net – a season-high .955 – and went from there.
They had something on those serves, too, as they recorded five aces in the three-set match.
Sydnee Burgess had 14 kills for Montezuma.
Chloe Snook had 21 assists. Addyson Probasco led the team with 18 digs.
Meanwhile, the Bravettes next play in Sigourney on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. They’ll face off against Sigourney, (16-5) a team that beat them in the first round of SICL tournament play.

The Bravettes moved their overall record to 13-14 with the win.
Lynnville-Sully ended an 8-20 season.
