Bravettes take down SICL co-leader
SULLY – So who’s going to win when the SICL volleyball tournament rolls around in a couple weeks?
The Bravettes have a right to put up their hands, after knocking off one of the co-leaders, Lynnville-Sully, in five sets on Monday evening, Sept. 18.
At 6-12 overall, Montezuma is not one of the league’s leaders, but the Bravettes played like one against the Hawks.
Montezuma won the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-22.
Lynnville-Sully had energy left and put it into some improved play, and took the third and fourth sets, 25-16 and 25-14.
That brought about the tie-breaking fifth set, and well, you just never know . . .15-8 for the Bravettes!
Montezuma stats were not posted as of Tuesday, so we don’t have details on a very noteworthy win by the Bravettes.
Montezuma lifted to 6-12 with this win.
Lynnville-Sully fell to 10-5. Those are overall records.
The Montezuma freshmen picked up another win, 2-0, on scores of 21-16 and 21-19.
Lynnville-Sully won the JV match, 2-0, on scores of 21-16 and 21-5.
