BROOKLYN – A night after shutting out BGM in Montezuma, the softball Bravettes did it again in Brooklyn.
The Bravettes were 10-0 winners on Tuesday evening, June 21, in a rescheduled game.
The victory was the seventh this season for Montezuma.
Montezuma rapped out 13 hits. Meanwhile, Bravettes pitcher Kallie Robison limited the Bears to just five.
Montezuma scored its first two runs in the third inning, then broke it open with four in the fourth.
Eighth grader Chloe Snook went 3×3 at the plate, with three runs scored. She had a triple and two runs batted in and stole a base.
Robison was 2×4 as a hitter, with a double and three RBIs.
Robison’s effort in the circle included three walks and five strikeouts.
The Bravettes were guilty of just one error.
Madison Van Zee was 2×5 with a run batted in.
Izzy Roorda went 2×4 with a double and three RBIs.
Getting one hit each were Tia Shaffer, Ellen Cook, Laila Kercheval and Abby Pope.
Jeryn Kalinay was 2×4 for the Bears, with a double. She also handled BGM’s pitching by going the distance and striking out one.
The Bravettes lifted to 7-13 on the season, and saw their junior varsity team win a 13-11 contest over BGM after having won 7-0 in JV play the night before.
BGM’s varsity fell to 4-13 on the season.
