Bravettes win three to go to 17-9

MARTENSDALE-ST.MARY’S – Montezuma’s volleyball showed more proof that it is rounding into a strong squad as post-season play approaches.

The Bravettes went 3-2 in matches at the Martensdale-St. Mary’s tournament on Saturday, Oct. 9.

The Bravettes won their first three matches by 2-0 scores, over the host school (9-14), Van Meter (14-9) and Pleasantville (14-12.

The Bravettes compete in the MSM tourney on Saturday, Oct. 11. (submitted).

They lost the final two, to Southeast Warren (23-7) and Earlham (13-6).

Montezuma emerged from the tournament with a 17-9 record.

SICL MEET NEXT – The Bravettes moved into the South Iowa Cedar League tourament on Monday, Oct. 11. The tourney continues on Thursday. Play both evenings will be in Montezuma.

On Monday, English Valleys plays Lynnville-Sully at 5 p.m., with the winner to come right back and play the Bravettes.
