Braxton Plants wins at Pekin mat invite

PEKIN – Braxton Plants won an individual championship and six of the eight Montezuma wrestlers that competed scored team points at the Bill Rex Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Combined, the Braves had a 12-10 record on the day. They scored 41 team points to place 9th in a 10-team field.

Braxton Plants stormed through the 215-pound division with a 3-0 record.

Speaking about storming: Brett Plants, Montezuma’s 190-pound entry, recorded a fall in just 8 seconds of one of his matches.
